Rare is the person who can build a successful business and make it their calling and not merely a career. Successful entrepreneurs are driven by their passion – they do what they love and love what they do.  Here are 3 signs you’re an entrepreneur.

1. You’re creative.

An entrepreneur is – above all else – a problem-solver. If you’re good at improvising and making things work, you may be a great entrepreneur. The greatest products and services originate from a consumer problem meeting an entrepreneur’s creative solution. Entrepreneurs simply figure out better ways to meet the needs of others. Successful business owners know that there is a direct correlation between profitability and the number of people you are helping every day.

The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” —Mark Twain

Entrepreneurs often have very limited resources, so creativity is a vital skill. You’re not always realistic, but that’s why you can produce tangible, profitable things from your imagination.

2. You’re persistent.

Giving up isn’t an option – you might have to concede defeat occasionally, but you never give up. Every great entrepreneur must overcome obstacles – when you get knocked down you get right back up and press on.  You probably have developed thick-skin to endure the inevitable criticism that frequently comes with running your own business. You may not always be accepted for the way you are or the way you do things, but the fact that you see things differently from the rest of the world moves society forward and drives innovation.

 3. You’re optimistic.

You’re the ultimate optimist, finding opportunity where others only see risk. You see untapped potential in everything and everyone. It takes tremendous confidence to strike out on your own into uncharted territory. You believe in what you can offer the world, and you know you can make it happen. Even your achievements seem insufficient – you’re already looking for the next big challenge. You don’t let warnings about long hours, uncertainty, and the stress of running your own business stand in your way!

Entrepreneurs change the world – everything you own began as a vision of an entrepreneur that they made a reality. It can be challenging to explain to non-entrepreneurs why you would choose this difficult journey, but for many of us it’s the only life that makes sense.
